Hot Toys has launched the Iron Man Mark 85 Battle Damaged Version as a Sideshow Exclusive and it looks absolutely stunning. The Iron Man Mark 85 LXXXV is the eighty-fifth and the final version of the Iron Man Suit.
The Iron Man Mark 85 was the last suit that Tony Stark wore in the Avengers: Endgame Movie when he snapped his fingers and defeated Thanos.
Hence, the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85 Battle Damaged Version allows you to capture this iconic moment in Marvel’s Universe and re-enact the famous -“I am Iron Man” scene.
The resemblance to Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr is uncanny. Once again, Hot Toys has outdone itself with this facial sculpt of Robert Downey Jr. The cuts, dried blood, and bruises on his face look extremely realistic.
Looking at the pictures of the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85 figure, you could easily think that these are scenes taken straight from the Avengers: Endgame movie.
Take a close look at the Battle Damaged effects on the Hot Toys Mark 85 figure. The scratches, burn marks and blemishes are done very naturally. Also, in places where parts of the armour were chipped off, the underlying circuitries are exposed.
The attention to details in the design of this Sideshow Exclusive Hot Toys Iron Man figure is really impressive.
The Nano Gauntlet was designed by Tony Stark, Bruce Banner and Rocket Raccoon as a substitute for the Infinity Gauntlet. It was made with Nano-Technology and the nanoparticles can re-arrange themselves to fit the hand of the user.
The Nano Gauntlet which was made from nanoparticles was able to fuse with the Iron Man Mark 85 armour.
In the final fight with Thanos, Iron Man managed to transfer the Nano Gauntlet, along with all 6 Infinity Stones from Thanos to himself.
The Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85 figure comes with the Nano Gauntlet. Each of the 6 Infinity Stones comes with Led Light. I can totally imagine how cool this figure would look on display, with the 6 Infinity Stones glowing on the Nano Gauntlet.
The fingers on the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85 are also articulated. This allows you to pose the figure to depict the climatic “I am Iron Man” finger snap scene. Do note that Tony Stark snapped his thumb and middle finger, not the index finger.
Other than Robert Downey Jr’s facial sculpt, the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85 also comes with a helmeted head with Led Light-Up features. Using Nano-technology, the Iron Man Mark 85 was also able to create Claw Blasters around his arms to enhance the powers of his repulsers.
Another weapon included in the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85’s arsenal is the Energy Blade. The Energy Blade materialized in Iron Man’s hand and was used to battle Thanos together with Thor and Captain America.
There are numerous scenes from the Avengers: Endgame which you could use as ideas for posing. If you also own the Hot Toys Thanos which also comes with a Battle Damaged version, then you can re-create the intense battle scene between Iron Man and Thanos in the Battle of Earth.
After uttering his now famous line, “And I….. Am…. Iron Man” and performing the finger snap, Tony Stark was critically injured by the gamma radiation from the 6 Infinity Stones.
The power from the Stones that surged through Iron Man’s body was too much for his mortal form. The right side of Tony Stark was badly charred and he could barely speak.
Spider-man tearfully placed his arms on Tony Stark’s shoulder as he realise that Tony was not going to make it. Eventually, Iron Man succumbed to his injuries, having made the ultimate sacrifice.
This marks the end of Iron Man’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic universe.
“So I thought I’d probably better record a little greeting… In the case of an untimely death on my part. Not that, death in any time isn’t untimely. This time travel thing that we’re gonna try and pull off tomorrow, it’s… it’s got me scratching my head about the survivability of it all. But then again, that’s the hero gig, right? Part of the journey is the end.” – Tony Stark
As an additional bonus, the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 85 comes with the Holographic Shield accessory. The is an energy projection shield which was seen when The Hulk put on the Nano Gauntlet to perform the reverse Snap.
Iron Man was seen emitting this shield from his wrist to protect himself as well as Hawkeye in the Avengers:Endgame Movie.
