I love rainy afternoons. Gloomy skies and strong howling winds used to trigger my imagination when I was a kid.

I would pretend that a powerful wizard who was my enemy was approaching. The rain and strong winds foretold his arrival while I prepared for battle.

It’s intriguing how we lose much of our imagination and our ability to have fun as we grow older.

Through this blog, I am trying to find an avenue for relaxation from my stressful job.

As a child, playing with toys and fighting imaginary monsters were the most carefree days in my life.

My Brother gave this Mushroom Umbrella Smurf to me when he was moving to his new home.

Having a huge collection of all sorts of toys, he took the opportunity to let some of them go. Mushroom Umbrella Smurf found his way into my collection.

The rain had already stopped when I took this picture from my balcony. The wooden planks were still wet.

There was no actual rain coming down on the Smurf. The effect of rain on the Smurf toy was achieved by a water sprinkler.

A tripod for your camera would come in very handy in such sitations. My camera is the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The tripod mounts the iPhone 11 Pro. A bluetooth shutter remote is connected to the iPhone.

With sprinkler in one hand and shutter control in the other, I could time the spraying of rain with snapping of pictures.

Pretty simple and fun.

I usually capture shots using the “Live” Mode on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The Live Mode allows me to capture moving objects.

Subsequently, the best instant could be selected from a series of stills. In this picture, I have chosen one where the rain drops had gather and a large droplet was about to drip from the Mushroom Umbrella.
