While the battle between Goku, Piccolo and Raditz was ongoing on Earth, two Saiyan warriors Vegeta and Nappa were listening in from a distant planet across the galaxy.
The Saiyans are an elite class of warriors. With a high metabolic rate to sustain their immense strength and aura, they have an insatiable appetite. Having just conquered a bug planet, the two Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa started devouring the bodies of the bug people they just killed. As a warrior race always on the move conquering planets after planets, they have no time to be picky about what they eat. To Vegeta and Nappa, these are just nutrients for sustenance.
News of Raditz’s defeat just got transmitted to the Saiyans’ Scouters.
“Raditz sucks. How could he be defeated by such lowly fighters with pathetic power levels?” said Nappa.
“He was always the weakest among the three of us. What a disgrace. He would not be missed anyway. A Saiyan so easily defeated does not deserve to live.” Vegeta said as he tore off another piece of bug meat.
“Let’s pay Earth a visit. I am very interested in those Dragon Balls the Earthlings speak of. How does the idea of Eternal Life sound to you, Nappa?” Vegeta said as he climbed into the Saiyan Space Pod.
“Very interesting idea, Vegeta.” Nappa replied as he too got into his Saiyan Space pod. As the door on the Space Pod closed, Nappa was once again reminded of how much he hated traveling in the Space Pod. Even though he could fit comfortably within it, he would still very much prefer more legroom. Thankfully, the journey towards Earth would only take one year. At that was the last thought that went through Nappa’s mind as he fell into a slumber…
One Year Later…. The Saiyans Arrive!
Exactly a year later, at 11:43pm, Earth was visited by two alien Space Pods which crashed landed in the East City. A curious crowd quickly gathered around the two craters formed.
As the doors of the space pods opened, two humanoid aliens with what appeared to be tails wrapped around their waists emerged.
As Vegeta and Nappa touched down on Earth’s soil, they surveyed the environment and the puny human inhabitants of this planet.
“This looks like a shitty planet and I don’t like these lowly creatures looking at us.” said Nappa. “Let me send them a greeting.”
Nappa takes one final look at the curious crowd that has gathered and channels his energy towards his left arm.
Nappa lifts his fingers and releases an explosive blast, wiping out the entire Eastern City.
“Vegeta, did I overdo it?” Nappa grins.
“You and your ostentatious moves. Didn’t you realise that we would have made a futile trip to Earth if you had destroyed any of the Dragon Balls in that attack?” Vegeta replied, sounding slightly displeased.
“Never mind that for now. Our first step is to find the locations of those responsible for Raditz’s death.” Vegeta continued.
“I’m picking up something on the Scouter….” Vegeta announces as his Scouter flashes and locks in on several power readings.
“Very interesting. This planet has several individuals with power levels above 1000. It seems that Raditz’s defeat was no accident after all.” Vegeta said, his excitement building up. “Still, they are no match for Vegeta and Nappa.”
“Let’s go have some fun. There are two great power levels near us. One of them has the highest reading on this planet. . We should be able to reach their location in 10 mins. This planet has very low gravity.”
